About Me
Costumes By Emma
Studying at Edinburgh College I graduated in June 2020 with an HND 'Costumes for Stage and Screen'. This led me to Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) studying a Degree in 'Costume And Performance Design' specialising in costume construction.
Upon joining AUB I undertook my first male tailoring garments. I was able to understand and appreciate the fine detailing and precision that comes with tailoring, which greatly expanded my skills in creating higher standards for costume.
My Major Project was an 1898-99 walking dress. This costume allowed me for the first time to cut and drape on the stand basic block patterns and small intricate pin tucks.
These projects during my time at AUB have deepened my love and appreciation for all parts involved in making a costume. Thus, raising the standards of costume I will produce going forward.

After graduating from AUB I found work with Macnaughton Holdings Ltd as a trainee kilt marker. I have explored new sets of skills, especially attention to detail and pattern matching. I have enjoyed exploring the traditional Scottish dress and appreciated the opportunity to learn these traditions.
I am now a Costume Assistant working in the UK and willing to work world wide. I'm always looking for new and exiting opportunities to work and collaborate with anybody or projects so please get in touch with me.
